Our ambition

In a city and a region where handball is a tradition of excellence, the University Sport Committee wishes to bring its contribution by valorising meetings, exchanges, conviviality and open-mind attitudes towards Europe and the World. We expect that up to 16 men and 12 women teams will participate.

" It is with great pleasure to welcome all athletes, officials and guests to the 1st  EUC Handball in Besancon / FRA. I am convinced that you will experience an event characterised by high level sport, international exchange and lovely atmosphere.
I congratulate the Organising Committee for their decision and their efforts to organise this championship and I wish them best success. The French University Sports Federation (FFSU) and its member associations proved their ability and engagement already several times. The European University Sports Association (EUSA) is very proud to have such active members, ready to dedicate a lot of their time and energy, in order to give the students of Europe the chance to come together, live together, play together and make new friends throughout Europe.

I am convinced that our students are here not only to play for the victory but also to show to all the peoples of Europe that the Olympic spirit is alive in their hearts and it’s become their way of living. We trust our students will transfer this spirit also outside the play courts, in the European Society, be-cause they are the future of this society.
